As part of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support," 350 families in the Odesa region received food and hygiene kits from the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya.
With the organizational support of our partner NGO "Heart of Free People," assistance was provided to families of internally displaced persons from Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Sumy regions who are currently residing in the Odesa Oblast, as well as to local residents from vulnerable population groups.
The humanitarian mission in the Odesa region was urgently needed, given that communities in the region continue to take in IDPs from frontline and temporarily occupied settlements. As a result, people who have lost their homes and found themselves in dire straits require additional support.
As a reminder, this is already the second humanitarian mission within the framework of this project in the Odesa region since the beginning of the year. In March, 250 IDP families also received similar aid kits from CAMZ. That same month, the project provided assistance to some 50 families from vulnerable groups in Zaporizhzhia as well.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
