As part of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated 250 food kits to families with children from among internally displaced persons.
These are families of internally displaced persons who, due to russian military aggression, were forced to leave their homes in the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions and are now living in the Odesa region. The humanitarian mission received organizational support from partners at the NGO "Free People Heart". They worked directly with the beneficiaries and, prior to that, helped update the contents of the food kits.
Experience working with vulnerable groups of the population, both in frontline communities and in host communities, shows that food and hygiene supplies remain in high demand and provide vital support, particularly for families with young children where only one adult is working, or where there are elderly family members who are unable to provide for themselves.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
