As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support," the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated a large shipment of medicines to the Velyka Oleksandrivka Hospital in the Kherson region.

The hospital serves ten communities, including those that have taken in a large number of internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied settlements in the Kherson region. According to the hospital, in 2025, more than 3,000 patients were treated as inpatients, and nearly 45,000 patients were treated in the outpatient department. Specifically, in the outpatient department, doctors of all specialties provided care to nearly 1,500 internally displaced persons, and 970 people with disabilities received care in the inpatient wards.

The request, which the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya received from the hospital, concerned a basic set of medications used daily to treat inpatients. The corresponding charitable shipment has already been donated to the Kherson region and transferred to the medical facility’s inventory.

The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
