As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" donated a batch of equipment for the needs of young patients at the Kirovohrad Regional Hospital – a neonatal device for phototherapy and warming, and a patient warming system.
This is a modern open resuscitation system designed to care for premature babies and restore their vital functions during resuscitation measures in maternity hospitals and intensive care units of medical institutions.

Today, Kirovohrad Regional Hospital is the main healthcare facility in the Kirovohrad region, which includes a Perinatal Center – the only one in the region that provides highly specialized obstetric and gynecological care for premature births and complicated births due to severe pathology of the mother or fetus, both to women from Kirovohrad and internally displaced persons from various regions of Ukraine. According to information from the medical institution, the percentage of premature births remains high at 9-10%, and up to 30% of births are complicated and require surgical intervention. In recent years, improvised means have been used to maintain an optimal temperature in the operating room. The new equipment is designed to safely and effectively warm patients on the operating table, prevent and treat hypothermia and its complications in the pre-, intra-, and post-operative periods.
As a reminder, in November, the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya already donated equipment for the support of newborns to the City Emergency Medical Care Hospital in Kropyvnytskyi.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, is ongoing.
