As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" donated a humanitarian shipment of medicines to the MNE "Orikhiv Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Hospital" of the Orikhiv City Council in Zaporizhzhia.
Since the first days of russia’s armed aggression, the Orikhiv hospital has been in the zone of active combat operations. Medical workers provided emergency medical care to wounded civilians and military personnel and were involved in the work of a military hospital. Unfortunately, 90% of the facility’s premises have been damaged or destroyed. As a result, the hospital was relocated to Zaporizhzhia, where the healthcare staff continues to work and provide medical services to patients. One of the hospital’s priorities is to visit residents of settlements close to the zone of active combat operations to provide qualified secondary (specialized) medical care. Specialists from the facility conduct examinations at family clinics, paramedic stations, and at home. With such a heavy workload due to numerous requests from the population, the medical institution needed therapeutic and neurological medicines. These have already been delivered to the facility to provide assistance to patients.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
