As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" has donated specialized medical cargo to the MNE "Hlukhiv City Hospital" of the Hlukhiv City Council in Sumy region.

A hospital in the Sumy border region, located 12 km from the border with russia and serving the children of several communities, needed expensive medical equipment: a patient monitor with a capnography module and a non-contact transilluminator for venous puncture. This equipment will not only improve the material and technical resources of the medical facility, but also significantly increase the quality and timeliness of medical care for children. Thus, the transilluminator allows up to 80% of subcutaneous veins to be found and a number of subcutaneous injuries and diseases to be detected. For children who have difficulty finding veins for procedures, the device is simply indispensable, as it will avoid unnecessary painful procedures.

In 2022, 533 children were treated at the Hlukhiv City Hospital, including 38 children under 1 year of age; in 2023, 809 children were treated, including 38 children under 1 year of age; in 2024, 988 children were treated, including 57 children under 1 year of age.

The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
