As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", a batch of medical equipment was donated to the Kosiv Central District Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

The hospital is a cluster healthcare facility that serves almost 100,000 people not only in Kosiv district, but also in the adjacent Verkhovyna, Kolomyia, and Vyzhnytsia districts. Most of the facility’s clients are residents of mountain villages. In order to improve the material and technical condition of the hospital and the quality of medical services provided to patients, the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya, in accordance with the request, donated a specialized humanitarian aid to Kosiv district with glucometers, blood pressure monitors and an automatic external defibrillator.

The equipment received will allow to carry out diagnostic measures more quickly, and thus prescribe the necessary treatment faster. And the new defibrillator will help detect high-risk arrhythmias, sudden cardiac arrests, eliminate cardiac disorders, etc.

As a reminder, the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
