Continuing to build dialogue with our Swiss partners

04/08/2026

The Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya maintains an ongoing dialogue with the communities of Swiss cities with the aim of fostering the exchange of expertise that is relevant to Ukraine amid crisis-driven reforms, when strengthening the capacity of professional communities and the civil society sector at the local level is of the utmost importance. We previously shared about the working meetings involving Nataliya Kabatsiy, Director of CAMZ, here.

The story continued, and the initiative gained many like-minded supporters, particularly among partners from the European cooperative Longo maï. And this week, we are welcoming a Swiss delegation to Uzhhorod—members of Longo maï and Andreas Schwab, mayor of Bremgarten bei Bern, whom we met in the spring of 2025. The visitors toured our shelter in Uzhhorod and our humanitarian warehouse, and saw how social projects are developing in Nyzhnye Selyshche in the Khust district…

The value of such visits lies in lively and constructive dialogue. It is important not only to hear about Ukraine and read the news, but also to see Ukraine with one’s own eyes and to interact with people who bring diverse experiences—often unique to the person you are speaking with. Consequently, the Committee continues to integrate effective practices and approaches shared by international partners into its current projects and future areas of activity, while also creating opportunities and platforms for inter-institutional cooperation and social communication.
