As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated specialized equipment to meet the needs of the Dnipropetrovsk Center for Sports Medicine, a municipal non-profit enterprise of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
The center, which serves more than 8,000 patients annually, focuses on organizing and providing therapeutic, preventive, diagnostic, and consultative medical care to athletes who are members of national teams and their reserves, students of the vocational college of physical education and sports, the Olympic Training Center, athletes with mobility impairments, members of Paralympic teams in various sports, students at children’s and youth sports schools, sports clubs and centers, specialized physical education and sports institutions at various levels, sports veterans, and others. To improve the quality of services provided, the facility required additional medical equipment. Consequently, the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya purchased and sent to Dnipropetrovsk Oblast a gynecological examination chair for people with disabilities, an automatic urine analyzer, digital dynamometers, and spirometers. The equipment is already being used by sports medicine specialists.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
