Recently, an International Scientific and Practical Conference on "Modern Approaches to the Formation of Professional Competencies of Specialists of Physical and Occupational Therapy" was held at the Uzhhorod National University.

The Swiss experts, who were partners with the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattia, became also partners of the scientific event.

Dr. Susanne Codoni, a speech therapist, MAS Cranio Facial Kinetic Science (MCFKSc), spoke about the basic aspects of speech development of children with mental disorders. Hendrika Graff-de Ruiter, a special educator, Master of Arts in Educational Sciences, spoke about the prerequisites for successful inclusion in school. She also represents the Association Parasolka, which has a long-standing relationship with Zakarpattia in the sphere of development and implementation of health and education services for people with disabilities.

In general, the areas of the conference covered such issues as physical therapy, occupational therapy in health care, the formation of healthy lifestyles by means of physical education and sports, the support of quality education in the field of special education and health-saving and health-forming technologies in the public health system.
