On October 17-18, the Uzhhorod National University (UzhNU) will held the First Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation on "Modern Approaches to the Formation of Professional Competences of Specialists in Physical and Occupational Therapy".

The scientific event will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the UzhNU Faculty of Health and Physical Education.

Uzhhorod National University, the State Enterprise Clinical Sanatorium "Carpaty" and the Charitable Organization "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattia" are partners in the event.

The topics of the conference will cover such issues as physical therapy, occupational therapy in health care, the formation of healthy lifestyles by means of physical education and sports, the support of quality training in the field of special education and health-preserving and health-forming technologies in the public health system.

Practitioners from abroad, including specialists from Switzerland, who will join the work of the Organizing and Scientific Committees, will take part in the conference together with domestic experts. The prerequisites for successful inclusion in the school will be discussed by a special educator, Master of Arts in Educational Sciences, Hendrika Graff-de Ruiter. The main aspects of speech development of children with mental disorders will be presented by a speech therapist, MAS Cranio Facial Kinetic Science (MCFKSc) Dr.Susanne Codoni. Swiss experts represent the Association Parasolka, which has a long-standing relationship with Zakarpattia in the development and implementation of medical and educational services for people with disabilities. In particular, at the current stage of international cooperation, a trilateral agreement was signed on the creation of new educational conditions for future professionals working with people with disabilities. The document was signed by the heads of the Charitable Organization "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattia", Uzhhorod National University and the Association "Parasolka".

The grand opening of the First Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern Approaches to the Formation of Professional Competences of Specialists in Physical and Occupational Therapy" will be held on October 17 at 09.30 a.m. at the Hotel "Emigrant" (Uzhhorod, 31, Mytna st.). Summing up of the conference is scheduled for October 18 at 12.00 a.m. at the Faculty of Health and Physical Education of UzhNU (Uzhhorod, 1, Franko st., room 1).
