One of the new areas of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is to support the functioning of temporary accommodation facilities for internally displaced persons in various regions of Ukraine by improving the conditions for the affected civilian population. The first facility included in this component of the project was a temporary accommodation facility for IDPs in the village of Neresnytsia in Zakarpattia Oblast.
Preparatory work has begun near the shelter to install a modern playground. It is planned to be a safe and functional complex of interconnected play and auxiliary elements, where children can spend their free time in a meaningful way.

Currently, the contractor has prepared the foundation for future structural elements and is landscaping the area around the site.

The temporary residence for internally displaced persons in Neresnytsia has become a refuge for nearly 80 people evacuated from the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. One-third of the facility's residents are children aged 3-17. The functional space will help children and adolescents normalize their sense of stability, promote their social integration and communication with peers, improve their physical development and health, and serve as a venue for various forms of family leisure activities.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
