The third powerful generator, received from Michael Roffler, a Swiss friend of the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya, and his organization "ProUkraїna", has been donated to the needs of the communal infrastructure of the frontline community.
This time, a 400 kW electric generator was delivered to the Kherson region. In one of the local communities, it will strengthen the municipal enterprise that provides heat to the local population. Given the constant enemy attacks on civilian targets, it is important to have reliable insurance for the functioning of key services in frontline settlements.
In July 2025, a 250 kW generator was transferred to Chernihiv Oblast, where it helps provide water supply and sanitation services. Even earlier, in July 2024, a 660 kW generator was sent to Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, where the equipment was integrated into the local heating network.
Although the overall condition of the power grid in the country, which was massively destroyed by russian troops, has been stabilized, regions near the front line are under constant threat of shelling. Civilian infrastructure, public utilities, and residential buildings are often targeted. To ensure that people’s basic needs are met, the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya, together with its partners, has been supporting the energy independence and autonomy of socially important facilities since the start of the full-scale russian-Ukrainian war.
