Our organization has been working with Parasolka Association for 10 years in the field of reforming the sphere for providing services to persons with disabilities, supporting Ukraine in the development and implementation of the European standards of services, support and care for persons with physical and/or mental disabilities.

In January 2019, Vita Rishko, an employee of the Vilshany Children Orphanage, was invited to visit the Special Pedagogical School in Biel, Switzerland, in order to exchange experience and get acquainted with the methods of work in Switzerland.

The purpose of the trip was to familiarize with the institution, attend music classes in small groups with children having physical and/or mental disabilities, the methods of using various musical and percussion instruments in the classroom, the design of music classes.

"...A trip to Switzerland, and especially to the Center where I had practical visit, impressed me much. I met an extraordinary man, Toune de Montmollin, who held interesting and new classes every day. I really liked how the kids start their day in the Center: all together by the fire, sing songs, congratulate each other. The classes of music therapy were diverse in the form of games, fairy tales, where children played fairy-tale characters, accompanied it all by playing instruments.

Toune's main task was to give the musical instrument to kids' hands. Even if a child with the very severe psychological problems plays one sound it is already very good. In addition to music therapy classes, I had the opportunity to visit workshops, as well as dance classes, where I got acquainted with the methods of work with difficult children. This trip provided a possibility to get acquainted with the teaching methods as well as conducting music classes with children. I was astonished by the fact that children know their day routine, the attitude of the staff is friendly."– being incredibly impressed told Vitalina.
