These days, our "PryhystOK" in Uzhhorod hosted the first Christmas workshop organized by the partners of the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya, the NGO "Happy Children".

The event proved equally interesting for both children and their mothers, as experienced trainers conducted two master classes simultaneously. The kids, together with Anastasiya Stelmakh, an actress of the "Bavka" Puppet Theater, made real nativity stars, while their mothers decorated Christmas trees and natural holiday candles with craftswoman Kateryna Shevchenko.

The meeting was cozy and informative. The children were told about Christmas traditions, and then everyone could test their knowledge during a quiz, which, of course, was not without gifts. The young participants of the workshop also saw with their own eyes a real Christmas star made using ancient techniques by a craftsman from Lviv region. The rare exhibit is part of the research work that the daughter of the Lviv craftsman, Yuliya Hryzlyuk, has published in her book "Christmas Stars". We are confident that the new knowledge will be useful to children and will encourage them to study the holiday traditions of different regions of Ukraine.

The adult participants of the master class enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere where they felt comfortable both communicating and making crafts. A special mood was added by natural materials for New Year’s compositions, candles, aromatic oils... As a result, everyone took home a wonderful decor that will definitely add a holiday to every home. And the magic of Ukrainian Christmas will be provided by the nativity star – their individual vision was recreated by the children.

All the residents of our "PrykhystOK", as well as pre-registered participants, took part in the Christmas workshop. The event was held with the support of our partners from "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and is a continuation of a wonderful tradition of meaningful and useful leisure time together.
