The other day in Uzhhorod, with the participation of representatives of state authorities, law enforcement structures, public institutions and international organizations, a round table was held on creating a safe environment for children and respecting the rights of vulnerable categories of the population during the state of war. Nataliya Kabatsiy, director of the Charity Organization "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" and Eugenia Melesh, a lawyer of the Committee, took an active part in the discussion.

"Given the lack of time and a clear understanding of the pending problems, we are interested in solving them promptly by joining the efforts of state institutions and competent non-governmental organizations. First, today the issue of unsettled supply of medicines to people with specific diseases, such as hormonal and others, needs to be resolved. We do not speak about one or two patients who need to get their medicine, but daily requests to local pharmacies, for which citizens receive refusals. Second – is the registration and monitoring of people with disabilities who came to Zakarpattya because of the war. As of now, the relevant state institutions should draw up a kind of cartography with data on where such persons stay and what they need... The third and extremely important thing today is to prevent cases when people with mental illnesses and a need of special support, diagnosis and treatment find themselves in the settlements for displaced persons. It is necessary to avoid conflict situations and create acceptable living conditions in places that have become a temporary home for IDPs. In these and other issues, our organization is ready to help the state, within the limits of our capabilities, to join in the solution of humanitarian problems", Nataliya Kabatsiy emphasized during the meeting.
